MERRY CHRISTMAS & A VERY HAPPY 2011 From the David & Deena Christensen Family

We are sending this Holiday Greeting via email for those who are long, long distances away.  Hopefully you will receive it in the spirit of in love which it is sent.

David's parents are working on a posterity that is as numerous as the sands of the sea.  So this will go onto a family website for the extended family also.

We wonder why we feel busy when we remember the last 2 Christmases in the MTC...but alas we are acclimated and in the thick of things here at home.  We have so many wonderful memories of our friendships and experiences.  We love our Savior and love the opportunities we have to serve in the Restored Gospel.  We wish you a wonderful holiday of remembering Him  and of serving...wherever you are in the world.

Love David and Deena and Chantel

MERRY  CHRISTMAS  &  A VERY  HAPPY 2011
From the David and Deena Christensen Family

“Let Christmas be a time that lights the eyes of children and puts laughter on their lips.  Let it be a time of lifting the lives of those who live in loneliness.  Let it be a time for calling our families together ---for feeling a closeness to those who are near to us and a closeness also to those who are absent.  Let it be a time of prayer for peace ---for the preservation of free principles and for the protection of those who are far from us.  Let is be a time of forgetting self and finding time for others.  Let it be a time for discarding the meaningless and for stressing true values.  Let it be a time of peace—because we have found peace in His teachings.  Most of all, let it be a time to remember the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ---that we may share in the song of the angels, the gladness of the sheppard’s, and the worship of the wisemen.   May the spirit of LOVE which is present at Christmas time fill our homes and our lives and linger there long after the tree is down and put away for another year.”
President Thomas S. Monson
December 5, 2010 Christmas Devotional

We bear our collective testimony that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of the world.  We express gratitude for the blessing of living in this time and season  on earth when we can enjoy the blessings of the Restoration of His Gospel.

Jan Christensen Loar's Book

Hello Everyone,

On behalf of Dad (Marv) we are sending this out to everyone we possibly can. If you notice that anyone, especially your parents, (any of Jan's sibling or inlaws) are not on our email list.....could you please forward this to them?

We are sure that many of you know that Mom was writing her life story in book form. Before she passed away, she had finished it beyond the time that she and Dad were married. Dad promised her that he would finish it and he HAS! He worked for months on it. We have, and some of you have had the chance to read it. He has edited it, added more, and finally it is ready to be printed. At the end of the book, Dad would like to include comments from family and friends about Mom and how she has touched your lives. Please know we aren't soliciting contributions, just making sure you know they are welcome and appreciated. If you would like to send any comments to Marv please send them to:

marvinloar@yahoo.com or Marvin Loar

Please have them submitted by the end of November.

Comments need to be 100 words or less.

Thanks for your attention to this and help in getting this out to all the family.
Happy Thanksgiving!
We love you!

September NEWS From The DAVID Christensen Family...

Here is a little report of our Sept. for the family blog.
-Deena

September:  Chantel was in Primary sharing time w/ Michelle, as usual.  She was sitting in front with the sunbeams.  When the sister put objects on the table during her sharing time, Chantel stood up and grabbed the apple and took a bite. The pianist cracked up laughing, the kids were in shock that she was so fast and that she actually did that.  Chantel?...she was smiling and cider pressing and quite pleased with herself as Michelle helped her exit to wash her face.

Kit won the “Branch of the Year” in his company and they are took the awarded trip to California in Sept.  Congrats Kit!  Kieran and Karigan are doing great in track and Kimball is in football...which translates into busy, busy parents and kids. Kieran is being stretched with high school homework and 2 a day practices.

Aaron was called as Asst Scoutmaster along with his ward mission leader calling. He's excited to work with Taylor towards his Eagle.  Taylor is doing well in soccer and we have enjoyed a couple of his games. Their family spent Labor Day weekend Michelle's sisters' cabin and had a wonderful time with the 4 wheelers, etc.  The whole family got in on canning a large amount of pears and peaches. Aaron set up his Cache cooker on the patio and the kids blanched and peel off the skin, then we cut and bottled for Aaron to take them back out to process.  The bottles look like jewels on their storeroom shelves.

DJ & Candra spent Labor day in Austin w/ Allowitz.  Candra stayed a few more days to help them w/ Jack & Layla while Mat & Chenae continue on a cruise to Mexico.  Jack loved going to the Allowitz and hangin' out with the big boys.  I'm sure it was a busy week there, especially w/ the heavy rains that came and filled up the pond.  Mat & Chenae report they had such a nice time snorkeling and just being together.

Dev & Ash and Eric & Chelise had a wonderful time camping in the Sequoias, except Ash & Braden were sick some of the time.   Pax took a little dive from his stroller, face first onto the cement, but he's tough.  We're used to seeing a new scab on Carter's face every few days.  Amazing how flexible and resilient babies are. Braden is climbing lots now too, so we should soon get reports of his scabs and scrapes. Ash is the nursery coordinator and having fun.

DJ & Candra spoke in church on living the commandments.  Candra  was called as 2nd counselor in YW and now we are DELIGHTED that we can talk about the coming of grandbaby #18.  She’s fighting sickness, but we find it easy from our seats to offer encouragement that it is worth it!  YEA!!!!

We had a wonderful Labor Day (7th) we left in time to have breakfast in West Yellowstone at the 3 Bears Restaurant.  Then drove through Yellowstone Park.  It was beautiful and cool enough for us to see elk, buffalo, and deer. We stopped and went  through the recently opened  museum at Old Faithful.  It was lovely to be out in nature and to feel the winding down of summer.  Chantel seems to love the drive as much as we do.  We got to Jackson for lunch.
